One of my favorite things about being an author is meeting readers, young and old.

I am available for:

  • School and library visits

  • Home school workshops

  • Museum and summer camp appearances

  • Book groups

I can make presentations on one of the following topics:

Cooking up Holy Mole!:  The recipe for writing success, like the recipe for mole is complicated; it involves skill, persistence, and some serendipity.  I’ll tell you the story of where I got my idea, how I researched, wrote, and revised my book, and how I got it published.  I’ll also get you started cooking up your own book.

Brave Donatella, Florence, and the Medicis:  The setting for Brave Donatella and the Jasmine Thief is the Boboli gardens in Renaissance Florence.  Learn more about Renaissance Florence, the Medici family, and how I came to write a book about them.

Being Creative with Folktales and Legends:  Most of my stories are based on traditional legends and folktales.  Let me explain why these tales are important, how they work and how you can work with them creatively to write your own original tales.

I can also tailor a presentation to your interests and specifications.
